Out of state and in transit. Total power loss which means stranded on the side of the road at 630am on the weekend. Nothing open. The worst is that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach as you know you are going to get scalped by the auto repair guy which gives a whole new meaning to the word highway robbery.
As reviews go, this is a no-brainer. What’s not to like? Service was prompt and professional. Price was very, very fair. To the point where I am considering having him perform “optional” maintenance when I am in the area.
The final bill matched the quote to the penny, plus a few bucks for the belt. He told me a couple of other things to keep an eye on and with that we were on our way, hours later.
My only complaint is that he doesn't live closer to Texas so I would have a mechanic nearby I could trust and put my faith in. :)
Wrong. It’s finished and tested, ready to go, 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Oh, and along the way he inspected and replaced the serpentine belt as it was worn and would go shortly, saving you hundreds of dollars in labor.
On schedule you walk back to the garage to find your van in the parking lot. You assume the worst, as you would in most garages, and guess it hasn’t been touched.
If you are stranded, call them. Fast service!
Yes, I was that impressed, which is a pretty difficult thing for me to be. Highly recommended. Easiest 5 stars I ever gave in my life.
Enter Lance. He picks the van up and tows it to his garage. He says go for a coffee and I will call you in an hour. An hour later, on time, the phone rings. It’s the alternator, will take X amount of time to fix and will cost X dollars. He quotes you an exceedingly fair price so you say yes and expect enormous overruns when the final bill is presented. As you are stranded he offers you a ride into town so you can eat. He tells you to be back in 3 hours.
I was in transit between Indiana to Texas and I experienced a power failure with my truck late at night when everything was closed. I got a hotel and Lance said he would fix it first thing in the morning. He only had my vehicle an hour when he not only diagnosed the problem correctly but had the new part bought, picked up, and installed.
Several months earlier my truck had been in and out of a shop in Texas and that mechanic couldn't pinpoint the exact reason for my truck leaving me stranded. I ended up spending a bunch a money replacing things that I probably hadn't needed in the first place. Not only did Lance find the exact cause, he showed me the damaged part, explained what it does, and gave me complete peace of mind to continue on with the rest of my 15 hour drive.
It has to be exceptional for me to write a review….but this was.
Hey is awesome at what he does he very helpful and understanding expicaley to women don't treat them like they don't know what they are talking about I love that
We were on our way to Arkansas when our transmission blew out in Effingham. It was around 7pm, so not many options out there. We called L & C and they came out for roadside service and properly diagnosed the problem right away. He was there quickly and towed our truck to the shop. His price was more than fair and he was a really nice guy. He even gave us a ride to a hotel. For an unfortunate situation, they made it way easier for us to cope with it. Thanks for your service!
