I've been to Firefly many times over the years and while I can always find something it can improve upon it sets a high bar for itself which should be commended.
For starters get Crab toast - to die for with a variety of herbs placed on top!
For drinks I believe the manager suggested something similar to an old fashioned since I like whiskey/bourbon.

I've been coming here for years every time I travel to Southern Illinois. The food is always delicious. The staff is professional and friendly. The view of the pond and trees is so tranquil and relaxing; the perfect backdrop for any meal. If it's warm try to get a seat on the deck. In the spring, summer, and fall you can even feed the fish.
Was a random stop by on our way to Kentucky. Needed a nice place to eat other than a drive thru. What a great find! Food was fabulous! The service was phenomenal - ask for Claire. The atmosphere was great! Our view was beautiful overlooking the pond and the colorful trees transitioning into the fall season. The manager was pretty cute too!
What a classy restaurant! We were traveling from Arizona to Ohio, and we stopped at a lot of restaurants along the way. This was the best, by far. The ambiance is notable, and the menu choices are impressive. I had the crab cakes. They were delicious. The butternut squash soup was wonderful. The service was perfect. We have saved this place as one our all time favorites. We will be back.
For the soup get the butternut squash - the heat and sweetness is just perfectly divine!
Came across this unique restaurant while traveling. From the time we walked in the door we were greeted by a friendly staff. Claire was an attentive and friendly waitress. She brought our food out hot and kept our drinks refilled. The atmosphere was modern, clean and very inviting. We enjoyed a beautiful view of a pond with a fountain. The beer cheese with pretzel bread was the perfect appetizer! The fish and chips was fantastic and we ended the meal with a delicious orange pound cake with ice cream! Such a pleasant surprise! We will definitely be stopping by again when we travel!
If you are passing through Central Illinois and craving a genuine meal, that's not one of the hundreds of chain restaurants littering the highways of America, by all means stop by.
